Garrett and Lane continues to offer a fully staffed art department.

Traditional negative retouching is still available. Specialized artists with decades of experience can enhance your photographs using a variety of mediums including pencils, chalks and flexchrome dyes.

We also offer an array of finishing services to complement your digital or optical prints.

Mounting services include masonite, art board and gatorfoam as well as genuine canvas mounting which will protect and enhance your photographs. A variety of spray finishes and textures are also available to complete your finished order.

Additional Info

To insure satisfactory results when ordering Art services, please follow the items below:

A proof must be enclosed when requesting an artwork estimate. If you do not enclose a proof we will print a 4 x 5 print for the estimate and you will be charged for a deluxe automated print.
A guide print must be enclosed for a request of opening eyes.
If you request negative retouching, please mark the box on the glassine and also the box on the front of the order envelope.
No artwork or spray on wallets.
If you are requesting artwork on prints larger than 11 x 14, we will have to mount these prints. Mounting charges will be added.
Prints requiring extensive artwork will require matte spray.
No Rush service is available for negative retouch.
Micro negative retouching is an additional charge. If the head size on your subjects are small, as in family groups, the negative has to be placed on the micro machine.
If negatives are already retouched, indicate this in special instructions and check artwork on order bag, otherwise blending will NOT be done.

Negative Retouch is a service that can:

Neutralize blemishes, soften facial wrinkles, necklines, bags under eyes, and minimize time needed for corrective artwork on prints.

Print Retouch is a service that can:

Fill in light areas left by negative retouching, eliminate glasses glare, remove small light problems, and reduce facial shine and hot spots.
Print retouching is required when you request negative retouching to do final blending.

Helpful Hints:

Do you have a problem with dark areas on the print (light areas on the negative) such as moles, blemishes, or lines? This can be handled with negative retouching.
Do you have a problem with light areas on the print (dark areas on the negative) such as glasses glare, shine, or hot spots? This can be handled with print retouching.
If you request negative retouching, please keep in mind that we will also do print retouching to blend the final print. If your subject has acne, deep lines or wrinkles, expect to have extensive retouching to take care of the problems.

If you check negative retouch on the order bag and no instructions are included, we will do a standard retouch. If you place special instructions on the negative glassine, we will follow those instructions as well as our normal retouching.
